Our History
Waste Connections was founded in 1997 by a group of industry professionals in Washington and Idaho. After a year of rapid growth, the company decided to go public and launched its IPO in May 1998.
Since then, Waste Connections has been devoted to finding environmentally friendly waste disposal and recycling solutions. We believe our services play an integral part in improving the quality of our environment in the communities we serve.
BARCO
In January 2022, Waste Connections acquired the Friedman Recycling Plant in El Paso, Texas, and renamed it BARCO El Paso.

Within our industry, there are sustained efforts to develop alternative technologies to reduce landfill waste, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and harness bio-fuels.
